I was hoping I could get through the normal maps tutorial and get to rigging, but I did learn quite a bit today. I did a simple texture on the alien, created a suit from his body, added detail and then created a normal map to bake onto the low-res suit. It took way longer than it should have, but I’ve got a preliminary grasp on what buttons to push and knobs to twirl in order for blender to be happy and actually show normal maps properly.
