Done with the second half of video 4, still need to stitch the lower wings to the body. Having a bit of trouble with it but overall having a great time with the series!
Redoing the first video in the blendercookie dragon tutorial. Going to follow through this time with the series to learn more about rigging and animation.
Well, I’m calling my fan piece of Freddy “done”. I’ve uploaded him to blendswap. Hopefully he’ll be approved.
This is as far as I got today. I’m going to wrap it up tomorrow and then upload it to blendswap and scratch this up to experience. I need to learn how to do topology better, I’m going to go over the blendercookie.com series.
I’ve been wanting to model “Freddy” from an old Amiga game called “Corporation” by Core for the longest time. So far it’s been 6 hours and still in the ‘nailed it’ stage. Hopefully, I can tighten it up and make it look a lot closer to the source tomorrow.
Ok, I’m sticking a figurative fork in the model. Nothing fancy and it doesn’t have the necessary beveled edges to make the highlights stand out. I’m going to move on to UV mapping and try to get this puppy finished tomorrow. Still new to the way blender does UV’s but I think I’m getting a better handle on it. I’m halfway done getting them nice and ironed out.
So I decided to practice hard edge modeling by doing a Sega Master System thinking “How hard can it be? It’s merely a trapezoidal shape with a few insets…1 day later, I’m still finding details I need to figure out how to model in. The one on the left was the first attempt, the right one is where I’m currently at now. I think it resembles the system a little more accurately. I still need to put in the grilly bits.
